Big Design for Little People

Discovolante and Testacalda

With Kartell’s launch of its inaugural kid’s collection, things are about to get real fun in the playroom—and not just for the children. The collection is at once full of whimsy yet modern and streamlined, with soothing pastel shades alongside vibrant colours that pop. There’s the pared-down rocking horse inspired by the steel H-beams used in construction by Japanese design house Nendo and the Discovolante car and Testacalda tractor in methacrylate by Piero Lissoni. Phillipe Starck’s new age swing Airway comes with a seat made out of transparent polycarbonate and held up by a brightly coloured rope. Playtime never looked this good.
