Garden Party

The Bee’s Knees café on the first floor of The Garage at the Botanic Gardens may be a fine hideaway for simple eats on lazy afternoons, but it is its sister restaurant Botanico, located upstairs, that really impresses. Helmed by Spanish chef Antonio Oviedo, the menu comprises an ever-changing roster of modern European dishes tinged with Asian and Spanish influences. Think lamb tartar with smoked olive oil, egg yolk cream and mustard ice cream. Pre-meal, belly up to the hidden bar beside the restaurant for “botanical-inspired” cocktails such as a happily stiff Gin’Onic.
